THE PSYCHOLOGICAL AND HEALTH IMPACTS OF OUTBREAK CORONAVIRUS ON THE LEVEL OF PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL-BEING OF STAFF IN PRIVATE JORDANIAN UNIVERSITIES

Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the level of psychological and healthy impacts of the outbreak of the Coronavirus and its relationship to the level of psychological well-being of the private Jordanian university staff. The sample consisted of 240 male and female staff at Jadara and Irbid National Universities. To achieve the purposes of the study, two valid and reliable scales were developed.  The results indicated that:  The overall level of psychological and health impacts was high on both areas of the scale, while the overall level of psychological well-being was moderate, There is an inverse correlation and statistically significant between the level of health and psychological impacts of the outbreak of Coronavirus and the level of Psychological well-being, There are statistically significant differences in the psychological and health impacts attributed to gender variable and in favor of females, There are statistically significant differences in psychological well-being attributed to the occupation it came in favor of the academics, There are no statistically significant differences in the effect of interaction. The study recommended the provision of a social security base and an umbrella for staff members in the private sector to take care of them in both normal and emergencies.
