Abstract

Background / Objectives: The purpose of the article is to analyze the concertmaster art of
Kazakhstan in a historical context, to identify the key factors that determined its qualitative
rise in the second half of the twentieth century (concertmaster art is considered in the
synthesis of performing and pedagogical activity).
Methods / Statistical Analysis: The principle of historicism was chosen as the fundamental
one. The basis of the study was the method of scientific observation and analysis, as well as
systematic and comparative methods for identifying the specifics of accompaniment art, the
main provisions of the history and theory of accompaniment performance, accompanist
pedagogy.
Findings: The article discusses the tasks and specifics of the accompanist's work with
soloists-performers of various specialties. The author reveals the complex of abilities, skills
and abilities required by the accompanist and his future professional activities, acquired by
him during his studies, as well as the specifics of the accompanist's work, which is due to his
cooperation with representatives of various artistic specialties. The peculiar “universalism” of
the accompanist as a broad-based musician is emphasized. The article for the first time
considers the creativity and performing activities of the leading accompanists of the
Republic, their contribution to the development of accompaniment in Kazakhstan and the
continuity of traditions in accompaniment. Through their work, the musical culture of
Kazakhstan in a historical aspect is generalized and considered.
Improvements / Applications: The results of the study can contribute to the further study of
the concertmaster art of Kazakhstan and can be used as methodological material in the
process of training young musicians, as well as in the lecture courses “Concertmaster art of
Kazakhstan” and “History of Kazakh music”, for universities of the republic.
